John Walter (Jack) Stewart


 
John Walter ( Jack ) Stewart was born in Toronto on March 01, 1922 to the late Elsie and John Stewart.  He left us on April 10th, 2002 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.  Jack was a 48th Highlander and a Sergeant from 1939 to 1945.   A long standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 112 Whitby, Ontario. 

Loving husband of Patricia (Nee Kostuik).  Loving father to Gary and his wife Karen, Garth and his wife Mary, Sheri and her husband Allen Reed, Lana Lauda and Clayton, Kathy Penwright and Dean, Brenda and Steve. 

Grandfather to Heather and husband Gary, John, Jay , Meghan, Stewart, Kristopher, Matthew, Jackallynn, Ryanne, Jon, Jennifer, Justin and his wife Alana,Roxanna, Robin, and Nicholas. 

Great Grandfather of Jesse, Amanda, Jason, and Ashley.  God father to Gordon Trinkwon.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,

 
I am not there.
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there.
I did not die.

 Jack died with his wife Patricia and daughter Sheri at his side holding his hand.
